A-1 Coast Rentals, Inc.
The company was founded in 1945 by A.E. "Slim" Billings, leaving his shipyard-welding job just prior to the end of WWII to start his own business and named it Lomita Saw & Lawnmower Shop. He later added locksmithing & key making. Within a year he acquired some utility trailers and began renting them along with just about anything else he would find that contractors, industrial firms & homeowners could use, since non-military tools & equipment were scarce due to the preceding five-year war effort. It has become a non-stop effort to keep up with the customers ever since.
The name has changed to A-1 Coast Rentals, A-1 Coast Temporary Services (formerly A-1 Coast Sanitation, Inc.) was added to the mix in 1963 with the acquisition of LeBleu Sanitation, a small company, which rented portable toilets. The Company has expanded to its present size as one of the top half dozen or so, a supplier in Southern California, not only toilets but also temporary power poles, fencing and job sheds.
The A-1 Coast sister companies, operating together, are able to furnish the greatest varieties of rental equipment services in the country. If not the largest, certainly one of the most diverse.
The staffs of both companies combined are sixty of the most talented, efficient and dedicated people, which comprise one of the proudest and well-respected teams in our industry.

Customer Service on
Generate rental contracts on computer
Maintain inventory control
Resolve customer service issues
Solicit new customers with follow up sales
Job & skill requirements:
Starting salary ranges from $10 and up.
Customer Service in Yard:
Experience preferred, but will train.
Must learn to demonstrate to customers how to safely use the equipment
Ability to test and inspect equipment upon return
Maintain equipment inventory
If necessary, help customer select suitable equipment for his/her job
Keep equipment in a ready-to-rent condition and well organized in the yard
Strong customer service skills required, written test on basic math & word skills.
Salary ranges $9.00 & up.
We maintain a full service shop.
Ability to diagnose mechanical problems
(e.g. 2 & 4 stroke & diesel engines)
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections & perform the recommended service
Must provide own tools
Minimum of 5 years of experience with trucks and construction equipment required
Must keep and submit accurate records of time spent and parts used to repair equipment
Ability to assist customers & problem solve over the phone desired.
Salary commensurate with ability & experience.
